PAS Seeks Science Fair Judges for November 19 & 20

Support our junior scientists and share your love of science by being a science fair judge. Each year, the 4th-8th grade students complete a science fair project. Parents, university professors and students, along with interested community members, serve as judges for projects. Hear students present their projects and chat about the scientific method in action. The Lower School Fair for grades 4 and 5 is Wednesday, November 19. The Middle School Fair for grades 6-8 is Thursday, November 20. Both fairs are 8:45am to 10:45am in the PAS atrium. Click here to sign up.

Meet Fluffy

There's a new furry face at PAS this year. When lower school science teacher Mr. Foster joined our community in September, he didn't come alone. He brought Fluffy,  a male holland lap-eared rabbit. Fluffy is approximately 5-6 years old, and was a gift to Mr. Foster from a former student whom he taught at Webster Elementary School.  Fluffy spends the week at PAS then goes home with Mr. Foster on weekends. He likes to go outside (on weekends) and eats rabbit pellets, green vegetables (e.g., different types of lettuce, kale, greens, etc.), grass, leaves, and dandelions. He is NOT fond of carrots.

Support the PAS Playground Initiative

The PAS HSA has teamed with Spruce Hill Community Association, Parent-Infant Center, the University City Arts League and St. Mary's Nursery School to raise money to repair and maintain the PAS playground. More information on this initiative and how you can get involved can be found in the letter below.

It's Science Fair Season!

Students in grades 4-8 participate in science fair. Students conduct experiments on their chosen topic. Most of the work is done at home so be sure to check in with your student to ensure that progress is being made and deadlines met. More details on science fair and related assignments can be found on the science teacher's weebly page.  The Lower School Science Fair will be held on November 19, and the Middle School Science Fair on November 20. Completed projects, on prepared boards, are due in advance of those dates.

New Web Site for PAS Middle School Families

Middle School Parents are invited to check out the new middle school web site. This site contains homework calendars for middle school subjects, and should work with any computer or web browser.  It is set up to work on mobile devices as well, but the calendar will display in 640 x 480 size on all devices.  Click on the drop-down menu items or direct links from subject pages to find each teacher's calendar.
