Scholastic Books Now Online

Share your love of reading by shopping at this year's Scholastic Book Fair. Shop the fair in the atrium beginning on Monday, December 1 or shop online at Lower School Fair or Middle School Fair. The proceeds from the Fair will go towards the purchase and installation of a SMARTBoard for the library. Thanks to your support, the past four book fairs have generated $6902.64 towards our goal of $8689.21. Only $1,786.57 to go!

If you have a little time to spare in the coming weeks, please consider volunteering at the book fair. Most of the school-day shoppers are lower school students who need help choosing books and making sure they have enough money for the books they've chosen. Helping them is fun and rewarding. Sign up here.

We also encourage you to bring your children to the book fair or visit it on your own.  The hours are:

• Monday, December 1:  9:30 -11 a.m. and 12 to 3:30 p.m.

• Tuesday, December 2: 9:30 -11 a.m. and 12 to 3:30 p.m.

• Wednesday, December 3:  9:30 -11 a.m., 12:30 to 5:30 p.m.

• Thursday, December 4: 7:45-11:30 a.m. and 1:15 to 3:30 p.m.

Academic Support for Middle School Students

Additional literacy and math support for middle school students is now available before school. Beginning the week of October 13th, middle school teachers will help students students with math on Mondays and Tuesdays, and literacy on Wednesdays and Thursdays.  Students who have questions or need to print a document should come to the front entrance at 7:30 a.m.

Meet Fluffy

There's a new furry face at PAS this year. When lower school science teacher Mr. Foster joined our community in September, he didn't come alone. He brought Fluffy,  a male holland lap-eared rabbit. Fluffy is approximately 5-6 years old, and was a gift to Mr. Foster from a former student whom he taught at Webster Elementary School.  Fluffy spends the week at PAS then goes home with Mr. Foster on weekends. He likes to go outside (on weekends) and eats rabbit pellets, green vegetables (e.g., different types of lettuce, kale, greens, etc.), grass, leaves, and dandelions. He is NOT fond of carrots.

Support the PAS Playground Initiative

The PAS HSA has teamed with Spruce Hill Community Association, Parent-Infant Center, the University City Arts League and St. Mary's Nursery School to raise money to repair and maintain the PAS playground. More information on this initiative and how you can get involved can be found in the letter below.
